Juice cleanses have become all the rage in many major cities & fitness communities. From organic fresh pressed juice lines to homemade juice blends, juicing can be very beneficial if done right. Key benefits of juice cleansing include resetting the digestive system, reducing junk food & sugar cravings, & re-adjusting your overall bad habits. Here are a few tips for getting started:
1) Wean Yourself Off Meat
If you’re a heavy meat eater, weaning yourself off meat will make drinking juice for three or more days a lot easier. Try cutting out meat for three days before you start the juice cleanse to help reduce cravings. Additionally, easing yourself back into a total meat diet will keep your digestive system from going into shock.
2) Don’t do Intense Workouts
Working out at all is not really a good idea when consuming such few calories. An easy yoga class or light walk towards the beginning of your cleanse is ok, but steer clear of your typical gym activities.
3) Start Slow
For beginners, a five day juice cleanse may be a little ambitious. Try starting with a three day cleanse or even one day if you feel like you won’t be able to make it through the first time.
4) Find Your Soulmate Cleanse
With so many different options out there, finding a juice cleanse that is just the right fit for you can be easy. Looking to make your own juice cleanse? Try doctor oz’s & joe cross’ juice cleanse for a safe and cheaper option. Dromo.co Editor, Lana, tried this cleanse and is a fan. What was the hardest part I asked her? “The toughest part was actually not having coffee or Starbucks!” Not excited about making your own juices? Pick up a pre-made set of juices from local businesses such as San Francisco based company, Thrive Cleanse or California/Texas based company, Nektar. The beginner cleanse at Nektar is made even easier by adding a more filling almond milk to the mix.

I like the tips, and always mean to do this but often get scared. You’re probably right on the workout front too, my greatest fear is passing out during boxing because of a cleanse! good tips
haha yes agree! It would really only work during the days you had little to no workouts 🙂 Don’t want anyone to pass out during boxing.
These are perfect tips! I think another one to remember is to limit how often you perform cleanses. Your body really doesn’t need to be “cleaned” that often as we have systems in our bodies to do it for us!
Very good point! I have to agree with you on that. I actually live a really healthy lifestyle so I wouldn’t do this often at all 🙂
